DNS Pilates Specific Program

Integrate DNS into Your Pilates Practice

Our DNS Pilates courses are designed exclusively for Pilates instructors who want to elevate their teaching with the science of Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation (DNS). Developed in collaboration with the renowned Prague School of Rehabilitation, this program shows you how to weave DNS principles seamlessly into the Pilates method — transforming how you and your clients move.

Earn Your International DNS Certification

Complete all three courses and pass a short written and practical assessment to receive the DNS Exercise Trainer (Pilates) certification from the Prague School of Rehabilitation. Certified trainers are listed on the Prague School’s international website, giving you international recognition and credibility.

Each course is also approved by the Pilates Alliance Australasia (PAA) for 15 Professional Development Points (PDPs).

Course Breakdown

🔹  Course 1 — The Essentials
Learn DNS fundamentals and how to apply developmental kinesiology principles to Pilates. Master functional tests to identify breathing and movement dysfunctions and integrate them into Pilates fundamentals. Focus on undifferentiated patterns on the sagittal plane — the foundation for strong, stable movement.

Examples:
Supine (footwork, leg/arm springs), Prone (swan), All fours (knee stretches, elephant, long stretch, push-ups), Seated (rowing series, seated footwork), Squat/Standing (frog, squat variations, standing arm springs).

🔹  Course 2 — Differentiated Patterns
Explore how extremities function differently when supporting vs. stepping/reaching. Learn to recognise and train ipsilateral (same side) and contralateral (opposite side) patterns — essential for advanced movement and gait.

  • Ipsilateral:  side planks, sidekick series, mermaid, kneeling sidekicks, star, twist.

  • Contralateral:  lunges, step-ups, splits, mountain climb, scooter, front splits, Russian splits, swimming.

🔹  Course 3 — Rehab & Real Life
Learn to apply DNS principles in Pilates to address common injuries, postural dysfunctions, and muscle imbalances. Develop practical strategies for working with clients with spinal, upper, and lower limb conditions.
